Chris Moyles has volunteered to participate in the latest I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! process in an attempt to beat his previous low scoring performance.
The 48-year-old broadcaster struggled throughout the series facing a Bushtucker trial, managing just one star out of a possible 11 in Boiling Point and taking home three stars out of 11 available with fellow fields Boy George and Babatunde Aleshe in the angel of agony.
In a preview on Thursday night’s episode, Moyles volunteers to take part in The Savage Sorting Office alongside fellow camp Owen Warner who work together to earn meals for camp.
Moyles, whose eyes are covered with a black eyepatch, is seen operating a yellow crane from which the Hollyoaks Warner actor is seen dangling, before being plunged into a vat of yabby, mud crab and eel to sort the mail and recover the stars.
Directing it, Warner says, “Go right, go right bro. Right now, get me down a little, get me down. Stop stop stop stop.
Moyles exclaims, “Oh my god, this is heavy.”
In his previous Boiling Point test, Moyles panicked in confined spaces and struggled to free the stars using a small wrench. After taking on the challenge, a noticeably distressed Moyles could only secure one star for the field.
Warner received a much warmer reception from the field after he triumphed in the Boiling Point trial return a week after Moyles’ attempt.
Elsewhere in the series, Moyles appeared in another Bushtucker trial alongside Culture Club star Boy George and comedian Aleshe, both of whom have since been written out of the ITV reality show.
The trio were seen singing while navigating a box full of critters to find a star, however, they struggled to keep their nerve and only won three stars. Moyles became increasingly agitated by the creatures that were falling on him as the trial progressed, saying, “Because I wore shorts.”
I’m a celebrity… get me out of here! continues on ITV1 at 9pm.
