Users are waiting for EMUI 13 and Huawei is launching a new software update for the global flagship smartphone models. However, this is not just an ordinary update as it adds the important features of Huawei VoLTE and VoWiFi.
According to the information, the latest software update comes with VoLTE and VoWiFi HD calling features according to certain Huawei markets or regions. Moreover, these features are currently noticed for flagship models like Mate 40 Pro, Mate 30 Pro, and P40 series.
But we expect them to add VoLTE and VoWiFi HD calling features to more models. Changelog reveals that Mate 30 Pro and Mate 40 Pro get EMUI 22.214.171.1242. On the other hand, the P40 series is running on EMUI package version 126.96.36.1990.
What are VoWiFi and VoLTE?
The VoWiFi or Wi-Fi Calling feature enables users to use VoWiFi-enabled smartphones to dial numbers to make voice or video calls over a Wi-Fi connection. Currently in India, only Jio and Airtel networks are offering VoWiFi services.
VoLTE is the abbreviation for “Voice over LTE”, and it offers the possibility to make voice calls through the data communication of the LTE/4G mobile network. VoLTE has up to three times more voice and data capacity than older 3G and up to six times more than 2G.
This update adds the VoLTE and VoWiFi HD voice calling features, which are currently available in certain countries and regions.
